	Eddie originally joined as a member of the old Betsy Layne Men's Club on October 25th, 1971, and remained as a firefighter once the club became non-existent in May of 1976. The year of 1976 also saw him receive his Level I firefighter certification on December 1st. Over the past several years, Eddie has been instrumental in assisting with the organization of three other volunteer fire departments including Johns Creek, Mud Creek, and Tolers Creek. He was elected as our 5th fire chief on May 24th, 1976, and has held the position ever since. He also served as Vice President from May 23rd, 1977, until February 27th, 1978, was appointed Fire Code Inspector on February 26th, 1990, and also temporarily served as President from December 13th, 1993, until February 14th, 1994. Chief Clark obtained his Level II instructor certification on February 12th, 1993, as well as his Level II firefighter certification on September 3rd, 1996. Eddie was elected as a board member on August 28th, 2002, and has held the position ever since. Chief Clark has been awarded several times by both the department and the community for his service. On June 28th, 2008, Eddie was awarded a plaque for his 36 years service to the department. He has accumulated over 2,250 fire training hours with the dept. serving as both a training instructor and firefighter/officer. He and his wife, Rosemary, attend the Vogel-Day United Methodist Church at Harold.
