 | Another New Concept
We have never heard of or seen this but still an interesting idea...
Typically firefighters refill fire trucks with water by a hydrant prior to returning to the station. These firefighters installed piping above their trucks so they can turn a valve and have the water pour into the opening on top of the tank. Yet again a very interesting idea that we have never heard of before.
This was taken at St Matthews Fire Department Station #1 while several Betsy Layne Firefighters Attended a fire school there.

 | This took alot of patience and a lot of time!
This is a concept we have never seen done before - nothing extraordinary but still worth a mention. Only recently have fire trucks been fitted with reflective striping to the rear of the trucks. Some trucks such as the one you see here arrive with diamond plate sheet metal that does not provide a clean surface. In true firefighter spirit the firefighters with the St Matthews Fire Department at station #1 purchased the reflective striping cut into squares and individually placed them in between the diamond plate design. This was taken as firefighters from Betsy Layne attended a fire school in Louisville in September 2008.
