One of the first visitors for the open house was Billie Joyce Coggins. She is the sister of Fire Chief Eddie Clark, aunt of Asst. Fire Chief Edward Clark, and mother of Firefighter Brian White. Here she is pictured talking with Edward and Firefigther Sean Lawson prior to the event.

Records indicate that Mr. Layne was a Betsy Layne firefighter in both 1975 and 1976.
|
| |  | Arnold Sturgill
Records indicate that Arnold was a Betsy Layne firefighter from October 1st, 1990, until October 7th, 1991. He and his family still live in the Betsy Layne community.
|
| |  | Orbie Boyd
Records indicate that Orbie was a member of the old Betsy Layne Men's Club from at least 1954 until at least 1973.
He served with the United States Army as Private First Class during World War II and was later a prisoner of war.
Mr. Boyd is still active in supporting his community as he serves as a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 169 of Betsy Layne.
