One of the first visitors for the open house was Billie Joyce Coggins. She is the sister of Fire Chief Eddie Clark, aunt of Asst. Fire Chief Edward Clark, and mother of Firefighter Brian White. Records indicate that Arnold was a Betsy Layne firefighter from October 1st, 1990, until October 7th, 1991. He and his family still live in the Betsy Layne community.Arnold Sturgill

Records indicate that Orbie was a member of the old Betsy Layne Men's Club from at least 1954 until at least 1973. He served with the United States Army as Private First Class during World War II and was later a prisoner of war.
